HALLOWEEN DOG TREATS Peanut Butter Apples

DIY Halloween Dog Treats!  Today we are doing DIY Halloween Peanut Butter Covered Apples for dogs!  It’s our take on Caramel Apples for dogs, but since we can’t use caramel on the apples, we came up with a way to use peanut butter instead!

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
1/4 Cup Peanut butter Chips
12 Pretzel Sticks (low sodium or no salt)
3 Apples

Directions

The first step will be to melt the peanut butter and the peanut butter chips together.  Place both ingredients into a microwave safe container, and melt them until they turn into a smooth, creamy coating.  Next, take a melon baller and make mini apple rounds!  I made 12 of them, which takes 2 – 3 apples, depending on the size of your apples.  Then, take your pretzel sticks and insert them into the center of the apple balls.  You might need a few extra pretzels in case you break any.  Now take your apple balls and dip them into your peanut butter!  Place the peanut butter apples onto some parchment paper and let them dry.  The coating will harden slightly, and then your dogs are free to enjoy them!

Another option for these, is to place them in the freezer and give them as frozen treats, or place them in the fridge so the coating gets solid faster.  Store these treats in your fridge for 2 – 3 days.  Trust me, you dogs will eat them up fast!  And yes, you can eat them too!
