Sucking up the Husky Hair | Neato D6 Giveaway

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Neato. The opinions and text are all mine.

If there is one thing I love, it’s a floor with no dog hair on it. Even better, is when someone else does the work of cleaning up all that dog hair. Enter my new favorite household appliance, the Neato D6 Robot Vacuum. Unlike other vacuums, the Neato D-Shape design means that every corner will be cleaned. I think it’s time to put this vacuum to the test. Neato D6, meet house with 3 huskies that shed all the time. Enjoy sucking up that dog hair.

The first thing I noticed was how easy the Neato D6 was to set up. Straight out of the box, plug it in, install the app, connect to WiFi and you are ready to go. I do suggest letting it fully charge before your first run. This will allow the Neato the most amount of time to map out your home. Did I mention that it maps out your home? It has laser guided mapping, which means the Neato D6 can navigate and clean at any time, day or night, and create a complete map of your house. Have a room you don’t want cleaned? Or an area you don’t want it to go? Once a map is created, you can add No-Go lines to stop your vacuum from going in certain areas.

As usually, I wasn’t sure if the Neato D6 would be up to the task of sucking up the fur of 3 Siberian Huskies. After I let it fully charge, I opened the app, and let it start doing it’s job. I started off on normal mode, which will get you the longest battery life, and it was doing a decent job. But because it had been a few days since I had vacuumed, I put it on turbo mode. This makes a huge difference when really getting the dog hair out of the carpet.

This was before we used the Neato D6
This is after going over it just one time on Turbo mode.

The dogs were not sure what to think of this new found friend that was running around their house cleaning up all their Husky Glitter. Kira the puppy was very interested in what was going on and decided to chase Neato D6 around for a bit. Whenever she would bump the front of it, it would turn and go another direction. So as a word of advice, while the Neato D6 is mapping out your house, keep your pets out of the way, otherwise your map is going to look pretty funny!

Our house is about 1,400 square feet and I decided to let it do it’s job for as long as possible. The battery life, even in turbo mode was very long. I was also surprised with how quiet this machine is. For a vacuum, it was nice to not have to yell over the noise. The canister on it needs to be emptied quite often if you have a multiple dog household, but it’s very easy to do. Pause the run, empty, and hit start again. It also has filters that will need to be replaced every few months, this really helps cut down on the dust and dander in our home.

In conclusion, I was presently surprised by the job this little Neato Robot vacuum did. We are letting it run everyday now, while we are home, and it’s helping keep our carpets and floors nice and clean. The dirt and fur it pulls out of the carpet is impressive. As I said, with 3 huskies who are constantly playing, and bringing sand inside from outside, it’s nice to have a bit of help cleaning up the mess. I would recommend this robot vacuum cleaner as a great addition to your house.
