Did you know that dogs can detect blood sugar levels in humans?  They can be trained to not only help monitor blood sugar levels in diabetics, but how to respond quickly to help safe a life! Siberian Husky, Ada, has been trained to do just that!  She is trained to paw at her own when her blood sugar levels start to drop. She will nudge her owner repeatedly, and even paw her or try to get up on her if her levels drop very quickly.

Currently Ada is being trained to detect low blood sugar and high blood sugar levels.  She has passed her canine good manners tests, and is allowed to go shopping and to many other public places with her owner!  The next step will be allowing her to go to work with her owner.
