Today we headed up to Munising Michigan to check out the Grand Island Ice Caves! We had to hike across frozen Lake Superior to get to the caves! What a fun place to visit! The dogs had a great time. The Grand Island Ice Caves are a marvelous wonder! Lake Superior does not always freeze solid right here, so it isn’t every year you can go and visit the Ice Caves. The hike was open in 2014, but before that it hasn’t been open since 2009! So we knew we had to jump on this rare opportunity and hike and see the ice! The dogs did great and of course got a lot of attention on the way across. We considered taking our Dog Sled, but we didn’t know the conditions of the trail, or how many people would be out on the ice. If you are ever in the Munising Michigan area during the winter, ask about the Grand Island Ice Caves and go check them out for yourself!
