St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock DOG TREATS!


A fan of ours sent us a recipe for these fun St. Patrick’s themed Shamrock dog treats! So of course we had to try them!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup of whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup of cooked peas (Frozen will be greener, but canned works)
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 egg
  • tsp sea salt
  • 1 additional egg for egg wash (to make them shiny)

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Mix the dry ingredients in a big bowl (salt and flour). Puree the Peas and the Spinach together.  You can use a blender or food processor for this. Add the green mix to the dry mix, and then add 1 egg. Blend it all together until it forms a nice dough.  Cover you bowl, or wrap your dough and chill for 20 – 30 minutes. After it’s chilled, sprinkle it with a bit of flour and roll it out to between 1/4  – 1/2 inch thick.  Cut into shapes!  After you place them on a cookie sheet you can lightly egg wash them to make them shiny. Back for 20 – 30 minutes and enjoy!
