Today we are going to have some fun making DIY Fruit Salad Kong filling treats! Â Our dogs LOVE their Kongs, and it’s great to be able to change up the things we will them with. Â Peanut Butter is a great, simple thing to put in a Kong, but I think after a while, the dogs get bored with it. Â So today they are going to try Fruit Salad Kongs!
You only need a few simple ingredients to make these delicious treats for your dogs!
INGREDIENTS:
- Â Bluberries
- Bannana
- Apples
- Plain Greek Yogurt (or Plain regular Yogurt)
- Peanut Butter (for the cork!)
And of course, you need a Kong! Â Buy a Kong here: http://amzn.to/1XpSQkP (affiliate link) . Â Basically what we are going to do is layer the inside of the Kong. Â First, you will want to cork the bottom of the Kong (the small hole), with a bit of peanut butter. Â This will make it so the filling doesn’t fall out of the bottom. Â Next, toss a few blueberries in, then add a spoonful of yogurt. Then toss a few chopped apples in, and another spoonful of yogurt. Now add a few chopped bananas, smash them down a bit, and then (you guess it), another spoonful of yogurt! Â Place your Kong into the freezer for at least 4 – 6 hours until they are frozen, and that’s it! Â A simple, healthy, fun treat for your dogs! Â This makes a great summer treat to help keep them cool on those hot days!
