DIY APPLE CRISP FOR DOGS | How to make Homemade Dog Treats

Dogs love apples, at least my dogs do, and it’s Apple Season in Northern Michigan! What a perfect time to make some homemade Apple Crisp for your dog!  This DIY treat is so easy! The recipe is simple and our How to video shows you what to do! Our dogs love our Homemade Dog Treats!

Ingredients

– 1 Cup of whole wheat flour
– 1 Cup of all purpose flour
– 2 – 4 Chopped apples
– 1 Large Egg
– 1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
– 1 Tablespoon of cinnamon
– 1 Tablespoon of Honey (optional)
– 1 Container Plain Greek Yogurt (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Peel your apples, core them, and then chop them into small pieces.  Place them in a large bowl.  Combine all remaining ingredients into the same bowl and stir together.
If you have silicone liners for your cookie sheets, I suggest using those (links at the bottom of the article on where to get them)
If you do not have silicone trays for your cookie sheets, you can lightly grease your cookie sheet, or spray with a bit of cooking spray.  You could also line your sheet with parchment paper.
Spread the mixture onto the cookie sheet.
Bake for 30 – 45 minutes, turn oven off, leave in oven for an additional 30 minutes. The mixture should turn out slightly crispy to the touch.

After the crisp cools completely, you can scoop it into small bowls, or onto plates for your dog.  We choose to top our off with a dollop of Plain Greek Yogurt!  Our Dogs loved them!
